Join Our Mission at Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC)!
Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is a substance use treatment organization offering comprehensive behavioral health programs, including medication-assisted recovery, to individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions. With over 25 years of experience and multiple locations across the state, we provide a full continuum of care for substance use disorder, from prevention and harm reduction to treatment and recovery support. Our programs integrate FDA-approved medications for the treatment of substance use disorders, including all three medications approved to treat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone). We strive to meet our patients where they are, bringing care outside clinic walls via telehealth and mobile services and ensuring patients have access to harm reduction resources and education.
Essential Duties:
• Providing problem gambling education, screenings and referrals throughout the community served (Will County-Joliet) including but not limited to activations arranged as part of the Illinois sponsored "are you really winning" campaign.
• Providing "brief intervention" to individuals identified to have concerns regarding gambling whether the individual accepts a treatment referral or not.
• Providing problem gambling education, screening, brief intervention and referral to Family Guidance Centers' patients as appropriate.
• Distributing gambling education materials to organizations in the community, for example, behavioral health organizations, social service organizations, establishments that have gambling such as video gaming terminals etc.
• Supporting patients accessing care on FGC's mobile harm reduction unit including conducting initial screening/brief intervention, arranging transportation, and ensuring ongoing engagement in treatment at a community-based provider.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00a - 4:30p); with flexibility to support program needs
Start Date: July 1st, 2026
Work Location: Will County - Joliet
Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

Experience and Skills
Education and/or Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent, lived experience with substance use and/or problem gambling and stable recovery, and familiarity with federal and state confidentiality laws are required. Knowledge of gambling related treatment and support resources, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), drug-free recovery programs, and hospital-based medical detox admission and discharge processes, as well as certification as a CRSS, are preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance.
