Full-Time Wellness Assistant — Job Description
Waterman Village is seeking a Full-Time Wellness Assistant to support the Wellness Department with implementation of programs in active aging community.
Core Responsibilities
  • Prepare/set up and break down group fitness areas for classes. Teach a variety of group fitness classes. Assist at various Wellness/Waterman Village events as needed. Support residents with gym equipment and scheduling wellness assessments. Provide support and/or Personal Training services to residents.
  • Required Skills amp; Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Group Fitness Certification required (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, ISSA).
  • Format certifications desired but not required: SilverSneakers, Yoga, Pilates, Zumba, Aqua/Water, Functional Training.
  • Personal Training certification strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Basic phone and computer skills.
  • Knowledge of health and wellness topics.
Work Environment
  • Experience in senior/active aging community, rehabilitation centers, fitness studio, group exercise, personal training or community health programs.
  • Hours: Full-time. flexible schedule. Could include evenings and/or weekends, as assigned.
