Their work involves diagnosing issues, cleaning components, replacing worn parts, and ensuring the precise functioning of mechanical and electronic watches. Watchmakers may work for jewelry stores, watch manufacturers, or operate their own workshops, often handling both vintage and modern watches. The job requires attention to detail, excellent hand-eye coordination, and specialized training in horology.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Time Watchmaker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Time Watchmaker, you need precision manual dexterity, in-depth knowledge of horology, and typically a certification from a recognized watchmaking school or apprenticeship. Expertise in using specialized tools such as lathes, cleaning machines, and timing instruments, as well as familiarity with brands' technical specifications, is crucial. Patience, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills set outstanding watchmakers apart.
