Job description

Pyramid, Inc. is seeking a full time Visual Arts Instructor (Art Teacher) to teach fine arts with a focus on painting to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Some professional experience is helpful but not required. Experience with intellectual and developmental disabilities is not required but helpful. Behavior tech experience a plus! This role includes stepping into DSP responsibilities, including personal care and dining, to support students when needed.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching art, specifically painting techniques, to students with disabilities
  • Developing short-term objectives for students
  • Developing classes, projects and curricula
  • Being a dependable role model for students
  • Determining interests and abilities of students
  • Performing personal care

Requirements

  • Valid Florida driver's license, safe driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three or more visual arts-related skills and ability to share with students

  • Successful drug test
  • Valid driver's license
