Are you a friendly, motivated individual who loves both animals and people? Our busy veterinary practice in Rustburg, Virginia, is looking for a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team! The ideal candidate is confident in safely restraining animals, collecting samples, and educating clients while providing excellent patient care. Job Duties:
  • Assisting doctors and technicians in the exam rooms, treatment area and surgery
  • Filling prescriptions
  • Restraining pets for exams and treatments
  • Cleaning hospital treatment and exam areas
  • Collect samples (urine, blood, feces, etc.) and running necessary tests
  • Administer medication prescribed by Veterinarians (intravenous, intramuscular, oral, rectal, etc.)
  • Prepping and monitoring patients for anesthesia
  • Performing dental cleanings

Required Skills:
  • Passion for working with both animals and people.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Remains calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency with computer software.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs as needed.

Salary- $13-$16/Hour
