Cable Installation Technician – Paid Training + $1,000–$3,000 Signing Bonus

Video Voice Data Communications (VVDC) has been providing telecommunications, engineering, and construction services throughout Southern California for more than 20 years. We are looking for dependable, motivated people to join our team as Cable Installation Technicians serving residential customers throughout Orange County.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, being out in the field, meeting customers, and building a long-term career. Cable experience is helpful, but it is NOT required. We provide training.

We are especially interested in candidates with experience in satellite installation, alarm/security systems, low-voltage work, electrical, telecommunications, HVAC, construction, field service, or other hands-on technical work.

What You'll Do

As a Cable Installation Technician, you will visit residential customers and install, upgrade, troubleshoot and remove cable television, phone and internet services.

Responsibilities include:

• Install and connect coaxial/RG6 cable
• Install, upgrade, downgrade and remove cable/internet equipment
• Perform residential cable and internet installations
• Explain newly installed services and equipment to customers
• Provide professional, friendly customer service
• Troubleshoot basic installation and service issues
• Climb ladders and utility poles
• Work in attics, crawl spaces and other confined areas
• Use hand tools and installation equipment
• Drive to customer locations throughout the service area
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Complete work accurately while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction

What We're Looking For

• Able to use basic hand tools
• Valid driver's license and good driving record
• Valid vehicle registration and insurance
• Must have your own van, truck or SUV capable of carrying a 28-foot ladder
• Must be available to work Friday through Tuesday, including weekends when scheduled

Vehicle Requirement

Your own reliable vehicle is required. A van, truck or SUV must be capable of safely carrying a 28-foot ladder. The company provides the ladder and necessary hand tools.

Mileage/vehicle-use reimbursement is provided.

Signing Bonus

New/Inexperienced Technicians – $1,000 Signing Bonus

• $500 after completing 3 months
• $500 after completing 6 months

Experienced Technicians – $3,000 Signing Bonus

• $1,000 after completing 3 months
• $1,000 after completing 6 months
• $1,000 after completing 9 months

Compensation

• $19.65/hour during training
• After training: $19.65/hour + production incentive pay
• Potential annual earnings of $35,000–$80,000, depending on productivity and experience

Additional Requirements

Candidates must successfully complete the company's required hiring process, which includes:

• Background check
• Drug screening
• Fit-for-duty physical
• Verification of driver's license, vehicle registration and insurance
• Good driving record
