Job description

Overview

Responsibilities
  • Reviewing patient histories and clinical data to understand the reason for the exam and adapt imaging data.
  • Explaining procedures to patients and answering questions.
  • Assisting patients onto examination tables and positioning patients for optimal imaging.
  • Calibrating and adjusting ultrasound equipment settings based on specific body part being imaged.
  • Operating the transducer probe over the patient's body while monitoring the screen to ensure clear and comprehensive coverage
  • Taking accurate anatomical measurements, recording physiological data, and logging procedure observations.
  • Synthesizing data into a preliminary report.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing rooms and equipment in between patients.
  • Completes all mandatory department, educational and hospital requirements
  • Adheres to current Infection Control and Safety Standards
  • Regular and prompt attendance
  • Ability to work schedule as defined and overtime as required
  • Related duties as assigned

Additional Information

Employees must be in a regular position, working 20 hours or more per week (.50 FTE or greater) to qualify for benefits.


Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of allied health or patient care experience, 2 of which must have been full-time ultrasound experience Required OR
  • Completion of an allied health degree or 2 year training program from an accredited institution and 1 year of full-time ultrasound experience Required OR
  • Completion of an approved ultrasound training program Required
  • RDMS or RVT/RVS or RDCS/RCS registry Required
  • Comparable combination of education and experience may substitute for the above requirements.
