Position: Adjunct Faculty for Ultrasound Training
Department: Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine
Status: Part Time
Position Summary:
The adjunct faculty in Ultrasound Training is a member of the Clinical Faculty for Campbell University Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine (CUSOM). The adjunct faculty member is responsible for supervising learners during point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) training sessions and providing feedback and assistance while teaching POCUS scanning techniques. This part-time position will be shared between CUSOM undergraduate, CPHS, and affiliated graduate training programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate ultrasound scanning laboratory exercises for Campbell University stakeholders including, but not limited to CUSOM undergraduate, CPHS, and affiliated graduate training programs.
  • Provide POCUS training according to established ultrasound curricular elements for graduating students.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to; HIPAA, FERPA and other state and federal mandates.
  • Other job-related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Education/Experience:
  • A Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS) Certification from an accredited college or university is required. Multiple credentials preferred.
  • Preferred experience in instruction of ultrasound
  • Five years of successful academic experience in a medical school and/or institute of higher education is preferred.
  • Be a member in good standing in all appropriate professional organizations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to communicate effectively through both oral and written channels
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology.
  • Familiarity with/Knowledgeable regarding virtual meeting platforms (such as Zoom), educational platforms (such as Blackboard and Panopto).
  • Knowledge of /Proficiency with /Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and standard methods of digital communication, including web/text/chat platforms.
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with trustees, faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
  • Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
  • Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to work in a changing environment.
  • Ability to work occasional evening or weekend hours and the ability for occasional travel, including overnight stays.
  • This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity, and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
