Job Description:
The Department of Engineering Education (EEd) in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE) at the University of Florida (UF) is soliciting applications for a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Master Lecturer (working title Assistant/Associate/Full Instructional Professor) in the areas of computer programming and artificial intelligence with connected technical expertise in either mechanical engineering, electrical & computer engineering, or civil engineering. Although the anticipated hiring rank is Lecturer/Instructional Assistant Professor, senior levels will be considered based upon experience. EEd advances the study, practice, and innovation of engineering learning across the entire learner lifespan using evidence-based, interdisciplinary approaches to improve engineering learning, performance, motivation, and long-term success. Duties and Responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities for the successful candidate include teaching, updating, and developing undergraduate and graduate engineering courses, and may include both online and face-to-face instruction. Research in support of teaching is expected. In addition, there may be other service and teaching activities at the local, state, and national level, as well as at the university level, as directed by the department chair. Teaching assignments will be made according to background and experience and will be six to eight sections per year based on mutual agreement.

Required Qualifications:
PhD in engineering or a closely related discipline.
Preferred:
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses and will demonstrate a strong understanding of advanced programming areas, including modern machine learning and deep learning methods (e.g., MATLAB and Python) Expertise in one or more of the following areas is preferred: mechanical engineering, electrical & computer engineering, or civil engineering. The successful candidate will be able to effectively communicate complex concepts to undergraduate and graduate students, foster a collaborative learning environment, and remain current with developments in their field. Experience or demonstrated interest in engineering education research is expected; certification, training, or comparable experience in engineering education research is considered a plus.
