Job description

Summary:

As a Junior Buyer, you aren't just supporting, you are an integral part of the apparel engine. This is a high-visibility role where you’ll gain 360-degree exposure to the retail lifecycle, from trend forecasting and vendor relations to multi-channel execution.

This role is full-time, Monday-Friday, and is a fully onsite role at the Worldwide Golf HQ in Santa Ana, CA.

What We Offer:

  • This is a key hire on the apparel team that will have growth opportunities into a Buyer role.

  • This position offers excellent job stability, work-life balance, and room for growth.

  • With over 90 stores in 25+ states and a growing family of e-commerce sites, we are one of the largest golf retailers in the nation. We have been in business for over 50 years and we are growing!

  • There is no better time to work in the golf industry! (Perks include a strong employee discount on merchandise)

  • Medical/dental/vision benefits package, 401(k) matching, HSA matching, and paid time off with increasing tiers.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Shape the Strategy: Partner with Core Buyers to develop and execute seasonal product strategies that define the "look" of modern golf.

  • Trend Hunting: Act as our "eyes on the ground," researching competitors and social media to identify emerging silhouettes, fabrics, and "it" items.

  • Inventory Precision: Master the art of stock management, ensuring our 90+ stores have the right product at the right time.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key bridge between Purchasing, Marketing, and E-commerce to bring promotional campaigns to life.

  • Hands-on Merchandising: Step out of the office and into the field, participating in store visits to ensure visual excellence and real-world product performance.

  • Financial Growth: Analyze selling trends to help curate assortments that don't just look good—they hit our financial targets.

  • Precision Data Management: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of product data, ensuring every SKU is accurately set up and maintained across our systems for seamless omnichannel selling.

  • Purchase Order Leadership: Drive the PO process from entry to execution, collaborating with vendors to ensure timely deliveries and resolving any discrepancies with speed and accuracy.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Regularly review and interpret sales and inventory reports to identify "best-sellers" and "slow-moves," providing the team with actionable intelligence.

  • Proactive Inventory Optimization: Take the lead on suggesting reallocations between stores and recommending strategic markdowns to maximize sell-through and maintain healthy margins.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Detail Obsessed: You live for the specifics and pride yourself on organized, error-free project management.

  • Retail Savvy: You have a pulse on the apparel industry (3+ years’ experience preferred, but less experience may also be considered.)

  • Tech Fluent: You’re a pro in Microsoft Excel and Google Suite, comfortable using data to tell a story.

  • Communicator: You can handle store requests with a "solutions-first" mindset and collaborate across diverse teams.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field is preferred but not required.

  • The ability to work a full-time, Mon-Fri schedule onsite at Worldwide Golf HQ in Santa Ana, is required.
