Job description

Winpak Lane is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to join our Manufacturing team in Rialto, California. You will inspect precision-machined components, verify compliance with drawings and specifications, and provide clear quality feedback to production. This is a strong fit for a detail-focused inspector who enjoys hands-on measurement, problem solving, and protecting product quality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Read blueprints and engineering specifications to verify materials, finishes, dimensions, and tolerances.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, and other approved tools.
  • Complete first-piece, in-process, final, or receiving inspections as assigned and document results accurately.
  • Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming parts; support return, scrap, rework, containment, and verification activities.
  • Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to machinists, engineers, and management.
  • Calibrate or verify small hand tools and maintain inspection equipment in reliable condition.
  • Partner with production to resolve quality issues and improve inspection methods and the quality management system.
  • Follow safety requirements and support performance goals for safety, quality, inventory, delivery, and productivity.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 years of machine-shop inspection or related manufacturing quality experience.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use basic shop math.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection equipment.
  • Knowledge of machining processes, raw materials, dimensional requirements, and quality-control practices.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and walk, sit, or stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Machinist background or hands-on experience in a precision machine shop.
  • Technical certification in quality, machining, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Experience with nonconformance systems, calibration, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, or advanced inspection planning.

Level Placement
Placement is based on relevant experience and sustained demonstrated competency. Level I generally requires 3+ years of experience.
Additional Details
  • Full-time, non-exempt position based 100% onsite in Rialto, California.
  • Schedule and shift will be Monday - Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm; overtime may be required based on business needs.
  • Travel is generally not required.
  • Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise, moving equipment, flying debris, temperature changes, and required personal protective equipment.

Compensation
Compensation range: $23.00-$25.00. Pay will be determined based on the candidate's experience, demonstrated skill level, and other job-related factors.
