Senior Software Engineer_Application Management Services (AMS)

This position is based in Plano, TX.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer in the Application Management Services (AMS) team, who will play a critical role providing hands-on support to SAP GL platform and data pipelines.

This role requires experience in SAP S/4HANA FICO modules. You will deliver business value by ensuring robust SAP application support, functional enhancement in SAP, and new project implementation and data solutions leveraging platforms such as AWS, Snowflake and Tableau.

What you'll be doing

  • Provide hands-on support for SAP S/4HANA FICO modules, focusing on General Ledger (GL) and Controlling (CO) areas along with Configuration and Customizing to meet the business process requirements

  • Gather and define business requirements by working closely with subject matter expects and stakeholders, as well as translating into SAP FICO functional specifications for the system delivery team

  • Troubleshoot SAP production issues, conduct impact analysis, and coordinate resolution with cross-functional teams

  • Support error correction and suspense accounting processes in SAP

  • Ensure completeness of all activities for monthly and yearly book closures

  • Document functional specifications, configurations, and processes for future reference and knowledge sharing

  • Lead testing efforts for SAP projects cycle building comprehensive testing plan ensuring high-quality deliverables and compliance with SOX/audit requirements

  • Support and maintain data platform integrations within Snowflake and a cloud-based environment

  • Debug data transformations and metadata-driven pipelines integrating disparate systems such as SAP, Mainframe, and Informatica

  • Collaborate with Agile teams, product owners, and business analysts to design data and SAP solutions supporting key initiatives

  • Mentor junior engineers to drive operational excellence in system design/development and testing requirement

  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, tuning, and uplift of SAP and data integrations

What you bring

  • 8+ years of professional experience combining SAP S/4HANA FICO functional consulting (GL/CO focus) and data engineering

  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and SOX/audit compliance in SAP environments and in-depth experience in interacting with internal/external auditing teams

  • Strong knowledge of SDLC pipelines, SAP configuration/customization and integration with other SAP Modules

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex SAP and data platform issues

  • Understanding of data integration architecture and API technologies in supporting the implementation highly of scalable SAP data interfaces with external heterogenous systems/platforms in the cloud

  • Experience understanding scalable data ingestion flows, microservices-based transformations, metadata-driven development, and data quality controls.

  • Strong communication skills with ability to work collaboratively across teams and mentor others

  • 3+ years of experience with full SAP implementation life cycle

  • Strong knowledge of SAP S/4 HANA version 1909 or higher

  • Experience with Front-End Fiori Tile Business Transactions
