Full-Time

CCPI is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and patient-centered Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our collaborative women's health team at Touro Hospital in New Orleans. This is an exciting opportunity to provide full-scope midwifery care within a respected healthcare environment dedicated to exceptional outcomes for women, newborns, and families.

As a Certified Nurse Midwife, you will practice in an advanced nursing role and provide comprehensive care for women throughout their lifespan, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, gynecologic, and primary care services. You will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care to mothers and newborns.

What You'll DoClinical Care & Patient Management
  • Provide comprehensive nurse-midwifery care to women during pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum recovery.
  • Deliver primary and gynecologic healthcare services for women across the lifespan.
  • Assess patients through physical examinations, medical histories, and clinical evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and care strategies.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and procedures.
  • Perform approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within scope of practice and demonstrated competency.
  • Manage the care of newborns in accordance with established protocols and standards.
Collaboration & Care Coordination
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted clinical resource and advocate for patients and families.
  • Consult and seek appropriate supervision when needed to ensure safe, effective patient care.
  • Facilitate continuity of care through coordination of services and patient follow-up.
Patient Education & Advocacy
  • Educate patients and families regarding health promotion, disease prevention, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and overall wellness.
  • Support informed decision-making and patient-centered care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete medical documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory standards.
QualificationsRequired Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of full-scope midwifery practice.
Required Education
  • Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Midwifery Program.
Required Licenses & Certifications
  • Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure through the Louisiana State Board of Nursing
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification through the American Academy of Pediatrics
