Summary
Under direction of the Director of Special Events, solicits, secures, and manages cash and in-kind event sponsorships that ensure the achievement of established objectives. Develops the overall sales strategy to be tied to marketing of the events by way of brochures, publications, web and social content. Assist with the development of a social media calendar tied to sponsorship fulfillment. Assist with the design of marketing collateral for events to ensure sponsor representation is accurate.
Essential Functions
  • Research, prospect and establish sales leads through industry networking, community and business functions, cold calls, incoming inquiries, and other methods.
  • Cultivate leads and solicits major sponsorship partners for events produced by the Special Events Department.
  • Maintain existing corporate sponsorship accounts for Addison Special Events.
  • Develop and deliver custom proposals and sales presentations that creatively and distinctly differentiate and communicate unique assets to targeted prospects.
  • Develop innovative opportunities to enhance and increase sponsorships by current and former sponsors.
  • Work with the Department Assistant to draft and execute sponsorship agreements, oversee invoicing and payments, and maintain organized records of all documents related to sponsor prospecting and involvement.
  • Reach assigned sales goals for in-kind and cash sponsorships.
  • Assist in the development of event activations to then pitch for sponsorship opportunities.
  • Assist in the development of event marketing plans to support the goals and objectives of soliciting and securing event sponsorships.
  • Submit monthly and annual progress reports on cash and in-kind sponsorships contracted, sales calls conducted, and leads.
  • Maintain close contact with contracted sponsors prior to, during and following all festivals and events, including on-site sponsor management.
  • Work with the Department Assistant for the timely delivery of all sponsor credentials and assets, and creation and delivery of post-event recaps to each sponsor.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure all aspects of sponsorship agreements are fulfilled fully and accurately.
  • Assist with the development of an annual content calendar for special event social media accounts featuring content, images and videos specific to each audience.
  • May be asked to perform additional job duties that are directly, indirectly, or completely unrelated to normal job functions in the course of presenting certain Town special events.
  • Performs related duties as required or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Tourism, Business, or a related field is required; AND
  • Three (3) years of sales experience with sponsorship and/or advertising sales and one year experience in marketing or public relations, preferably around special events in a municipal or non-profit organization; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience. may be considered.

Conditions of Employment:
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and a safe driving record.
  • Clear criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
  • Methods and procedures used in the solicitation of corporate sponsorships for large-scale events.
  • Applicable local, State, and Federal laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances.
  • TABC regulations for alcohol sales, sampling, and sponsorships.
  • Marketing and sales principles, methods, and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, design, and photo editing software.
  • Working on multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Developing and executing creative and innovative social media marketing campaigns.
  • Designing and editing social media content, videos, and images.
  • Customer service, conflict resolution and negotiations.
  • Clear communication and attention to detail.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Excellent writing, speaking and presentation design and delivery skills.

Supplemental Information
PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in a standard office environment. Work is generally performed indoors in an air-conditioned facility but may also include limited exposure to outside weather conditions.
This is an exempt position; incumbent will be expected to work whatever hours are necessary to complete responsibilities.
