Job description

Overview
This is a full-time, on-site Title Insurance Underwriter role based in Winston-Salem, NC. The Title Insurance Underwriter will review title commitments, and related documents to determine insurability of residential real estate transactions.
Duties
Responsibilities include analyzing property records, resolving title defects, interpreting underwriting guidelines, and issuing title insurance commitments and policies within delegated authority. The role involves collaborating with attorneys, and internal teams to address underwriting issues and provide clear guidance. The Underwriter will maintain compliance with company and regulatory standards and contribute to continuous process improvement and customer service excellence.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to review complex property records, identify title issues, and make sound risk-based decisions.
• Knowledge of insurance concepts and practices, ideally with direct experience in title insurance or related property and casualty insurance fields.
• Underwriting experience, preferably in title insurance, with familiarity in applying underwriting guidelines to residential and commercial transactions.
• Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal, to work effectively with internal teams, customers, attorneys, lenders, and other stakeholders.
• Prior experience in title, escrow, closing, or real estate law is strongly preferred.
• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with common office software and title/escrow systems; ability to learn company-specific platforms and tools.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, regulatory compliance, and inclusive, collaborative teamwork.
