Job description

About Lamont Bros.

We build homes people fall in love with - again.

Lamont Bros. is a high-end residential design/build firm where craftsmanship isn't a buzzword, it's a standard. We partner with homeowners to transform their spaces through careful listening, innovative design, and precision execution. Our team is tight-knit, values-driven, and genuinely proud of what we build - both the homes and the culture.

The Role: Designer

Great design isn't just beautiful. It's buildable.

As a Designer at Lamont Bros., you'll be the bridge between a client's vision and the crew that brings it to life. You'll produce the detailed, accurate drawings and specifications our production team depends on - while crafting concepts that genuinely move people. You'll work closely with our Design Consultants, clients, and builders from early concept through project completion.

This role is for someone who gets excited by a perfectly dimensioned elevation and a perfectly curated tile palette.

What You'll Do

Draw & Document Produce highly detailed construction documents in Chief Architect - site plans, demo drawings, MEP layouts, structural elevations, and finish specs. Your drawings should be clear enough that nothing gets lost in translation on the job site.

Specify Finishes Own the selection and documentation of all project materials - tile, cabinetry, fixtures, and more - balancing client taste, project budget, and supplier realities. Keep everything captured accurately in BuilderTrend and your design models.

Develop Concepts Turn client goals into inspiring design directions. You'll push creative boundaries while keeping scope and budget firmly in view.

Stay Sharp Proactively track product trends, showroom offerings, and code changes. The best designers never stop learning what's new, what's coming, and what's possible.

What Success Looks Like

  • Drawings so clear and complete they generate minimal field questions and project variance
  • Finish selections delivered on time, every time - documented without gaps
  • Designs that earn high client satisfaction scores and genuine referrals
  • Strong billable hours and efficient workflows
  • Change orders that reflect client choices, not drawing errors

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in interior design, architecture, or residential remodeling
  • Strong proficiency in Chief Architect Premier
  • Working knowledge of building codes, NKBA standards, and local regulations
  • Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Clear, confident communicator - with clients, colleagues, and trade partners

Pay & Benefits

  • Competitive salary + bonus plan
  • Generous PTO and paid holidays
  • Health coverage
  • 401(k) with company match

Our Values

We hire for these, not just skills:

  1. Listen well. Communicate clearly.
  2. Take care of the team.
  3. Never stop learning.
  4. Always do the right thing.
  5. Do whatever it takes.
  6. Build things that last.
  7. Connect with empathy.

Why Lamont Bros.

We're an established, growing company with a reputation built on quality - and a culture built on people. If you're a designer who wants your work to matter, your team to show up for you, and your career to have real room to grow, we'd love to talk.
