A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A TEST ENGINEER

As an Environmental Simulation Test Engineer III, you play a critical leadership role as a member of our team. You oversee and mentor other technical staff members who are the technical interface with our customers, serving as a technical resource during the performance of contracted testing as well as during our initial sales efforts. You work closely with the customer to develop program specific test procedures. You are involved with the pre-test engineering reviews, test sample preparation, setup, execution of the tests, and the documentation of test results. You regularly interact directly with customers. In order to apply appropriate test standards and provide time and cost/quotations, you provide support to the sales team. You also get to support Engineering in the development of new service offerings. You get great satisfaction from helping our clients succeed by fully addressing their compliance needs!

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL SIMULATION TEST ENGINEER III

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field OR equivalent training
  • Required: Minimum of 4 years of industry work experience in the mechanical engineering field of Environmental Simulation Testing.
  • Prior experience with technical preparation of assigned test procedures for both internal and external use.
  • Prior experience in job costing and generation of quotations.
  • Familiarity with the following test standards preferred: MIL-STD โ€“ 810, RTCA/DO 160
  • Desired hands-on working experience in vibration and shock testing as well as knowledge of temperature, humidity, sand, and dust testing.
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, lift, and twist.
  • Position requires obtaining a hearing test.
  • Ability to use Air Purified Respirators (APS) or Powered Air Purified Respirators (PAR) is a prerequisite for any testing that requires respiratory protection.
  • Background that would permit the U.S. Dept. of Defense (DoD) to issue a Secret Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship
