Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Cardiac Telemetry Nurse at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, you will care for Telemetry patients with an emphasis on patients with heart issues. This position will assess patient/family health problems and resources, while developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive nursing care plans. Your role is vital in promoting optimal health outcomes by balancing patient needs and comfort, demonstrating accountability for ethical behavior, and supporting ethical practices through astute issue resolution.

Every day you will provide comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care, organizing and prioritizing patient activities with precision. You will serve as a patient advocate through holistic care practices, recognizing and adapting swiftly to changes in patient conditions (e.g., lab results, vitals). Utilizing the SBAR format for physician notification and performing bedside nurse-to-nurse reports are critical daily functions. You'll also participate in process and quality improvement activities, delegate tasks appropriately, and involve patients/families in their care plans using therapeutic communication, all while maintaining cultural sensitivity.

To be successful in this role, you will need excellent written and interpersonal communication, basic computer skills, and the ability to recognize your scope of practice by seeking multidisciplinary collaboration and utilizing appropriate resources are essential.   • Provides comprehensive, safe, and effective, evidence-based nursing care to achieve desired health outcomes for the patient
  • Organizes and prioritizes patient care activities balanced with the needs and comfort of the patient
  • Demonstrates accountability for own ethical behavior, and supports ethical practice by addressing and/or escalating issues
  • Documents assessments, reassessments and all nursing interventions within established timeframes
  • Uses knowledge of cultural differences to provide patient care that is sensitive to and consistent with cultural values, beliefs, and customs

  • ADN, Diploma, or foreign equivalent
  • Current AZ State RN license in good standing 
  • American Heart Association BLS  
  • American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months

Preferred

  • BSN
  • One (1) year medical/surgical intensive care experience
