Job description

Tridon Communications is looking for skilled Cabling Project Manager who will be a dynamic leader responsible for coordinating large-scale telecom deployment projects across Northern Alberta. This role encompasses systems such as radio communications, wireless networks, fiber, towers, and associated field infrastructure. You will play a pivotal role in delivering reliable execution, clear communication, and high-quality results from project kickoff through closeout. Collaborating closely with technical teams, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, and client stakeholders, you will plan, execute, and oversee complex telecom initiatives in industrial environments.

What You’ll Do

Project Leadership & Delivery
• Manage full lifecycle delivery of telecom projects—planning, scheduling, coordination,
QA/QC, and closeout.
• Oversee field installations, site work, equipment staging, and commissioning activities.
• Monitor budgets, timelines, risks, and dependencies to ensure on-time, on-scope
delivery.
• Maintain project documentation: schedules, status reports, RFI logs, change
management, and risk registers.
• Drive consistent standards for quality, safety, and compliance across all deployments.

Technical Oversight
• Provide hands-on guidance on telecom hardware, components, configurations, and
network architecture.
• Review and approve technical documentation such as scopes of work, installation
packages, site drawings, and test plans.
• Support troubleshooting during installation, integration, and commissioning.
• Ensure all work aligns with engineering standards, vendor specifications, and industry
best practices.

Customer & Stakeholder Management
• Serve as the primary customer liaison throughout the project lifecycle.
• Deliver clear, timely project updates and create early visibility into risks, blockers, or
required decisions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with client engineering, operations, and project
teams.
• Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal departments to keep all parties aligned.

Team Support & Development
• Mentor field technicians and junior project staff, providing technical clarification and
installation guidance as needed.
• Support resource planning, onboarding, and training related to telecom deployments.
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You Bring
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing telecom, wireless, radio frequency (RF),
    fiber, or network infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical background with a solid understanding of telecom components, radio
systems, fiber optics, power systems, antenna structures, and field deployment
    workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing installation crews and managing subcontractors.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical
    and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of QA/QC processes and field inspection requirements.

Asset
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Engineering Technologist (CET), or a
similar technical/project management certification is an advantage.
• Experience working on remote industrial sites such as oil sands, mining, utilities, or
energy projects is an asset.

Other Requirements
• Valid, current Driver’s Licence with the ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
• Clean 5-year Driver Abstract.
• Successful completion of a Criminal Background Check

Why You’ll Love Working at Tridon
  • Competitive wages
  • Company-paid benefits and 2.5% RRSP matching
  • Up to 5 additional paid days off for years of service
  • On-the-job and manufacturer training
  • Career growth in a rapidly expanding, innovative company
Physical Requirements
  • Work at heights, in man lifts, and in tight spaces.

  • Lift up to 50 lbs and work on your feet.
