POSITION SPECIFICS
Title: Environmental Services Tech (full-time; 1.0 FTE)
FTE: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per 2-week pay period)
Schedule: Monday to Friday 4:00pm to 12:30am; One Saturday and one Sunday per month
Holiday Rotation: 1-2 holidays per year
Weekend Rotation: One Saturday and one Sunday per month
On Call Requirements: None
Pay Range: $18.04 to $27.06; based on relevant experience
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the cleanliness and servicing of an assigned area, care and cleaning of equipment along with the stocking of supplies. Applies safety procedures and precautions as appropriate in clinical setting and with material handling and disposal. Works collectively within the department to ensure that the facility is clean and safe for visitors, patients and staff.
POSITION TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform various cleaning tasks in assigned area of the Hospital or Clinics. Tasks include disinfecting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, removing garbage and hazardous waste, clean furniture, windows, stairs, doors, bathrooms, and remove soiled linens.
  • Cross train to work in all areas of the Hospital and Clinics.
  • Perform periodic jobs such as wall washing, drapery/curtain washing, vents, blinds, etc.
  • Clean and disinfect technical equipment in surgery, clean surgery lights, remove needle boxes, and dispose of hazardous waste in receptacles.
  • Be a runner during emergencies.
  • Clean up unexpected accidents, spills, blood, and body wastes.
  • Deliver and stock linen, gloves, needle boxes to Hospital departments and send same as needed to Clinics.
  • Operate floor cleaning machine, buffers, wet/dry vacuum, etc.
  • Be aware of Material Safety Data Sheets information for all Housekeeping areas.
  • Know all safety codes, i.e. fire, tornado, disaster, blackout, security breach, etc.
  • Be knowledgeable of all chemicals, disinfectants, equipment, supplies and the appropriate use in all areas of the hospital and clinics.
