Job Title: Technical Delivery Manager
Reports to: Director of Technical Delivery & Release Management
Job Type: Contract-to-hire,
Duration: Open ended - however, the client would likely look to convert the consultant to a full-time employee after 6-months on contract
Location: Candidates will be required to work a hybrid onsite schedule, from one of the 3 offices listed below.

Job Description

If you can confidently run multiple Agile/Scrum teams with multiple IT projects with a collaborative, energetic, and positive approach, and are very technical, we want to talk with you.
The Technical Delivery Managers, are assigned to one of (3) areas, based on the candidates experience and background. This is an overview of the (3) types of Technical Delivery Managers, and the Director will determine where each candidate would best fit in the TDM category.
Enterprise-Level TDM: This role has direct oversight over all delivery to include development and infrastructure changes, as well as product-level changes.
Program Level TDM: This role will have oversight of multiple Scrum Teams, program processes, standards, and changes, potentially including their own dedicated Scrum Team, for delivery of development & product.
Team-Level TDM: This role will have oversight of the delivery of a Scrum Team, interacting with team members from the development and product level, working with 3rd party vendors on development projects, yet may inherit pieces of other projects as well. They used the term "single tribe" or "multiple tribe" oversight.
Added Insight on their environment:
  • They average over 1,500 product releases per year, 4-5 releases per day, and that is growing.
  • They average 25-30 major releases per month.
  • They have (2) groups that are split into "Travel" and "Non-Travel" clients.
  • They operate in a heavy Scrum environment
  • The TDM's are working closely with client teams, product teams, and 3rd party vendors
  • They are NOT a SAFe - Scaled Agile Framework environment - just heavy Agile/Scrum

Key Responsibilities & Duties
Our TDMs (Technical Delivery Managers) work closely with engineering, DevOps, and QA teams to orchestrate delivery of all new product and client enhancement requests to the platform. The TDM takes complete ownership of the delivery process working collaboratively with internal Connexons Loyalty teams to manage project delivery while establishing strong relationships with key personnel.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor Degree with technology emphasis (e.g. CS, MIS, IT) or equivalent experience
  • Certification as Scrum Master or similar Scrum certification
  • Active Practitioner of Agile/Scrum Methodology with current experience managing multiple scrum teams and projects
  • Ability to create and maintain relevant project documentation that provides evidence and supports project health indicators including:
    • Project Plan and Milestone Schedule
    • Change Management Process
    • Resource Plan
    • Risk Mitigation Plan
    • Project Budget
    • Project Status Reporting
    • Meeting Minutes Documentation on decisions/actions
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to deliver project status to all levels of leadership
  • Ability to facilitate, negotiate, and manage contention issues and risk mitigations daily.
  • 5 or more years working in an IT environment with a solid understanding of SDLC methodologies in delivering projects/programs
  • 5 or more years working with technology implementations
  • 3 or more years of IT project/delivery management
  • 3 or more years managing and being accountable for budgets over $250K

Desired Skills:
  • Prior IT experience implementing large scale IT development programs or other large program implementations in a technology driven organization
  • Ability to quickly understand deeply technical project components
  • 5 or more years of experience understanding complex business needs and creating into workable technology outcomes
  • 3 or more years of experience managing third party vendor relationships and offshore development teams to achieve business outcomes
  • Multiple years of experience of delivering new business capabilities by applying system and delivery lifecycle methods and approaches
  • Prior experience in working with organizational change management/leadership and process change management
  • Experience with task management via Microsoft Team Foundation Server and/or JIRA
  • Prior experience in the travel industry including travel technologies (e.g. Worldspan, Sabre, Apollo), preferred, not required
