What is a Full Time Tech Stack?

A Full Time Tech Stack refers to the combination of programming languages, frameworks, libraries, and tools used by developers who work full-time in technology roles. This tech stack typically includes both front-end (client-side) and back-end (server-side) technologies that enable the development, deployment, and maintenance of software applications. The specific stack can vary by company or project, but common examples include the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) or LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP). Having a defined tech stack helps teams streamline development processes and maintain consistency across projects.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Full Stack Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Full Stack Developer, you need proficiency in both front-end (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks) and back-end (e.g., Node.js, Python, databases) technologies, usually supported by a degree in computer science or relevant experience. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, cloud platforms, and containerization tools is commonly required, along with certifications such as AWS Certified Developer or Microsoft Azure certifications. Problem-solving ability, effective communication, and adaptability are critical soft skills that set top performers apart. These competencies are crucial for building robust, scalable applications and collaborating efficiently across teams in dynamic tech environments.

If you want to drive real-world impact and do the best work of your career, you've found your home. We move fast, follow the data, and hold ourselves to high standards. If that's how you work too, this is the role for you.

About the role

EverQuote is searching for a Senior Engineer II, Full Stack to join our B2B Agency Feature Team, one of the highest-impact teams driving the future of our Agency business.

This is not just another engineering role. You'll be at the center of everything, partnering directly with every platform team to architect, build, and scale the agency features that power EverQuote's B2B growth engine. Your work will directly shape how agencies interact with our platform and unlock revenue at scale.

You'll own the development of cutting-edge, user-facing applications and interactive services that are fast, resilient, and built to handle massive growth. Think bold UI innovations, seamless front-end architecture, and experiences that agencies can't live without.

You'll join a team of hungry, collaborative engineers who move fast and ship with purpose. But you won't just contribute, you'll lead. As a technical mentor, you'll elevate the entire team's game through deep expertise in modern front-end development, exceptional UI/UX execution, and forward-thinking adoption of AI tools that supercharge developer productivity.

If you want to build products that move the needle, mentor a world-class team, and leave a mark on a platform that's scaling fast, this is the role.

What you'll do

  • Design large-scale UI systems and communicate designs to technical and non-technical stakeholders (Product, Design).
  • Share knowledge and mentor teammates in advanced front-end concepts.
  • Quickly diagnose and solve complex front-end code problems, as well as help others unblock themselves.
  • Use data (e.g., A/B testing, performance monitoring) to support and validate your UI/UX concepts.
  • Integrate AI tools into the development lifecycle (e.g., for testing, code assistance, or feature implementation).
  • Contribute every day to the user experience in a fast-paced work environment.

What you bring to the team

  • 8+ years of professional programming experience, with deep, hands-on expertise building scalable full-stack solutions, encompassing equally solid front-end architecture and robust backend systems in production environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Expert experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular) and Typescript.
  • Proficient in component-based architecture and have experience with Docker/Kubernetes for front-end build and deployment processes.
  • Proven experience in technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and driving complex projects to completion.
  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset, want to grow a business, and love working with a team on user-facing products.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced work environment where everyday contributions to the user experience have a big impact
  • You have proficiency in using AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Copilot) in the full software development lifecycle, including designing, generating code, testing, monitoring and releasing software.
  • You possess knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) principles, and you can identify opportunities to properly leverage AI tools and technologies in daily development activities to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and drive innovation in user-facing products.

The base salary offered for this position is determined by several factors, including the applicant's job-related skills, relevant experience, education or training, and work location. The base salary range for this full-time hybrid position is $174,800-$205,700.

In addition to base salary, our total compensation package may include participation in variable cash bonus programs, equity, and a comprehensive range of health, welfare, and wellbeing benefits based on eligibility which are designated by role.
