Overall Assignment Description

Requirements Engineer is responsible for identifying, analyzing, documenting, validating, and managing system and software requirements throughout the project lifecycle. The role acts as a bridge between stakeholders, business teams, and technical teams to ensure that delivered solutions meet business needs and quality standards.

Duties may include
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops, surveys, observations, and document analysis. Analyze business processes, user needs, and system constraints.
  • Maintain the requirements traceability matrix (RTM).
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, testers, and project managers. Facilitate requirement review and validation sessions.
  • Ensure requirements are complete, consistent, testable, and aligned with business goals. Manage requirement changes and assess impact on scope, timeline, and cost. Maintain version control and update documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to define measurable success criteria for requirements such as โ€“ Requirements coverage with respect to percentage of requirements implemented, tested, and accepted, percentage of requirements that are clear, unambiguous, and testable etc.
REQUIRED
  • Ability to obtain and undergo the TS/SCI with CI Poly clearance process
  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree Information Technology, Engineering, or related field combined with over 4-8 years of handsโ€‘on experience.
  • Strong understanding of requirements engineering methodologies and tools, Experience with Agile โ€“ SAFe and Scrum development models.
  • Proficiency in requirement management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, DOORS)
  • Ability to create clear documentation and visual models. Strong analytical and problemโ€‘solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong facilitation and negotiation abilities. Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with crossโ€‘functional teams.
  • Once cleared, candidate must be able to physically be in Chantilly, VA minimum of 3 days a week to work.
  • All candidates must be US CITIZENS to be considered for the position.
DESIRED
  • Familiarity with Identity Credential Access Management solutions.
  • Experience with UML, BPMN, or similar modeling standards.
