Job description

Airswift is looking for a Subsea Construction Lead - OSSEM (Onshore Subsea Support Equipment Modules) to work for a major O&G company in Houston, TX, for an initial 12-months assignment.
Position Overview
This position offers the opportunity to support delivery of onshore subsea support equipment modules for a major LNG development. The role sits within a complex oil and gas project environment and focuses on safe, efficient construction execution across fabrication, assembly, testing, and delivery activities. This opportunity will suit a technically strong Construction Lead with experience overseeing contractors, coordinating cross-functional activities, and maintaining high standards in quality, schedule, cost, and HSE performance. The role provides broad exposure across construction, QA/QC, logistics, and commissioning readiness.
Role Context
This opportunity is within the oil and gas and LNG sector, supporting a major LNG project involving Onshore Subsea Support Equipment Modules. The working environment includes contractor offices, workshops, and fabrication yards in Houston and Ingleside, Texas. The scope covers fabrication, assembly, integration, testing, mechanical completion, and shipment readiness, with close coordination across contractor teams, quality personnel, logistics teams, and package leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee fabrication, assembly, integration, commissioning readiness, and testing activities carried out by the contractor.
  • Monitor construction progress to ensure work is delivered in line with project specifications, quality requirements, and schedule commitments.
  • Coordinate daily site activities and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders.
  • Provide regular progress updates and weekly reporting to project leadership.
  • Ensure mechanical completion of equipment and systems within the assigned scope.
  • Review contractor documentation, including general arrangement drawings, assembly procedures, testing procedures, and packaging and transportation plans.
  • Support review and evaluation of contractor change order proposals.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC personnel to verify material compliance, documentation, and construction quality.
  • Witness and participate in FAT, EFAT, SIT, and other testing activities.
  • Coordinate logistics and shipment activities with project and contractor logistics teams.
  • Promote strong HSE performance and ensure work is executed safely and efficiently.
  • Manage and coordinate field resources, including oversight of QA/QC inspection activities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Essential: Significant experience in construction management, fabrication oversight, or project execution within the oil and gas, LNG, offshore, or energy sectors.
  • Essential: Experience managing fabrication yard and contractor activities.
  • Essential: Strong understanding of mechanical completion, testing, commissioning readiness, and quality control processes.
  • Essential: Experience reviewing construction documentation and technical packages.
  • Essential: Ability to coordinate across engineering, procurement, construction, quality, and logistics functions.
  • Essential: Experience supporting large capital projects in complex industrial environments.
  • Desirable: LNG project experience.
  • Desirable: Experience working with subsea systems, process equipment, hydraulic systems, pumps, or packaged equipment.
  • Desirable: Prior experience supporting international megaprojects.
  • Desirable: Strong stakeholder management and contractor coordination skills.
