Structural Engineer – Full-Time

Location: Golden, Colorado

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our established structural engineering firm in Golden, Colorado, specializing in custom residential design. For more than 25 years, we have partnered with architects, builders, and homeowners to deliver innovative structural solutions for projects ranging from custom homes and major renovations to multi-unit residential developments.

This position offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from initial design through construction, working directly with clients and design professionals while contributing to technically challenging and architecturally distinctive residential projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the structural design of custom residential projects, including new homes, additions, remodels, and multi-unit developments.
  • Perform structural analysis and design for wood/timber, concrete, steel, and foundation systems.
  • Prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, and construction documents.
  • Coordinate directly with architects, builders, owners, and other consultants throughout the design and construction process.
  • Conduct field observations during construction and provide engineering support to contractors and project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and engineering standards, including IRC, IBC, NDS, AISC, and ACI.
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality deliverables and meeting project schedules.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to maintaining high technical standards within the firm, as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT/FE) certification is a plus. Candidates pursuing professional licensure are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience designing wood/timber, concrete, steel, and foundation systems.
  • Working knowledge of current design codes, including IRC, IBC, NDS, AISC, and ACI.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Revit experience is a plus.
  • Residential structural engineering or residential construction experience is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities.
