Middle School (Grades 5-8) STEAM Teacher
The Oceanport Board of Education has an anticipated full-time opening for a Grades 5-8 STEAM teacher effective September 1, 2026.
Job Description
The teacher will plan daily lessons and develop STEAM learning activities and experiences that are inquiry based and hands-on in the areas of science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
Must hold one or more of the following Certifications:
  • Middle School with Subject matter Specialization in Mathematics or Science in Grades 5-8
  • Mathematics Certification
  • Science Certification
  • Technology Education Certification
  • Computer Science Certification

AND
  • Pass the necessary State subject-matter test in the additional content area

Successful Candidates Should Possess the Following:
  • Computer/technology and/or science teaching experience preferred
  • Knowledge of coding, robotics, and the engineering design process
  • Understanding of computer systems and media arts
  • Familiarity with utilizing formative assessment to drive instruction
  • Ability to engage students in collaborative hands-on learning and inquiry based activities that promote creativity
  • Ability working cooperatively with colleagues and administration
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth
  • Strong communication skills
  • A passion for student success

Salary Range:
$61,985 - $63,985
Benefits:
This position includes eligibility for health insurance, paid sick and personal days, and enrollment in the Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund. This position is part of a collective bargaining unit.
