Job Summary:ย Teach five sections of Spanish:ย  1 section of Spanish 2 and 3 sections of Spanish III and 1 section of Spanish 4. Check out the World Languages Department philosophy and Spanish course descriptions on our website.

A strong candidate for this position would ideally have experience teaching high school Spanish, but we would also consider other teaching experience or a new college graduate. The World Languages Department is highly collaborative and shares resources, and we work to align grading practices to ensure department members evaluate tests, quizzes, homework and other student work within a similar framework, with student learning and outcomes at the center.ย  We seek to support and encourage confidence in languages through practice with writing, speaking and listening.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach 5 sections of Spanish:ย  1 section of Spanish II, 3 sections of Spanish III, and 1 section of Spanish IV (courses may change in subsequent years).
  • A successful candidate would have the ability to teach across the Spanish curriculum.
  • Collaborate closely with World Language Department members.
  • Plan lessons, create assignments and assessments, and develop other classroom opportunities to provide an engaging learning experience for all students.
  • Demonstrate a dedication to learning about our Catholic mission, and then put into practice our Catholic mission and our Quality values, supporting students and colleagues in this endeavor.
  • Commit to continuous improvement through a focus on lifelong learning and professional collaboration across the institution.

Education and/or Experience:ย Position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Spanish, or a WI DPI license in teaching Spanish or the ability to attain one within three years of hire, and preferably high school teaching experience.
