This position requires an active U.S. Government Security Clearance at the TS/SCI level.

We’re hiring a solution driven Software Engineer to work onsite with U.S. Government customers to create technology solutions for data collection, data analytics, data visualization, and user workflow automation.  You will get to work on an interesting mission focus with large data sets and create solutions with technology in support of national security.   You will work directly with analysts to understand mission needs and generate solutions.  Technical tasks include ELT, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large sets of geospatial data to extract meaningful knowledge with cloud-based processing technologies and emerging data science techniques. We want a self-motivated engineer who is comfortable digging into data, trying innovative approaches, and isn‘t afraid to fail fast and move on to other techniques/ideas.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement efficient, flexible solutions that can scale for mission critical applications.
  • Active in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements development, software design, implementation and build, documentation, testing, deployment and maintenance.
  • Apply software standards and processes to produce high quality, extensible, and maintainable software solutions.
  • Work with cloud tech stacks to perform data extraction, manipulation, transformation; visualization of geospatial-temporal data sets
  • Develop analytics/derivative data products to help users extract meaningful knowledge
  • Proactive approach to trouble shooting and problem-solving issues
  • Work directly with users throughout the IC/DoD to understand their requirements and propose technical solutions
  • Collaborate with diverse teams of engineers, clients, and users
  • Ability to work full time onsite

Minimum Qualifications:

  • US citizenship and a current TS/SCI clearance (with willingness to get a CI Polygraph).
  • Bachelor‘s degree in Computer Science or related technology fields
  • 5+ years of proficient experience with:
    • Developing custom software solutions
    • Performing data extraction, manipulation, visualization, and analysis with strong proficiency in Java, Python or C++
    • Linux skills and familiarity with cloud architectures, AWS, C2S
    • NoSQL Data Stores - Elastic, MongoDB, etc.
    • Development tools such as Git, Eclipse, Maven
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to work full-time onsite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with common industry software tools, concepts, and DevSecOps
  • An adaptable and solution centric mindset that embraces technology enablers
  • GIS, Geospatial data, Geospatial tools, techniques, processing, visualization
  • Agile development methodologies
  • Experience working with open-source resources in a government computing environment

Pay Transparency: To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.

● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $113,000.00 - $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 annually.

For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
