Job description

Job Description:
This position is responsible for commercial pumping and disposal of non-hazardous waste. Responsibilities include operating a company service truck and driving to various locations to pump septic tanks, Grease tanks and other nonhazardous liquid wastes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Follow safety rules and exercise safe work practice
โ€ข Provide effective communication between customers and office staff
โ€ข Observe and note defective septic component systems, adverse buildup or hazards on the work order
โ€ข Recommend any maintenance or service
โ€ข Prepare for each service job to maximize efficiency (get truck ready, tools, etc.)
โ€ข Daily pre-trip and post-trip maintenance (check fluids, tires, supplies)
โ€ข Completion and submission of quote and service paperwork to management in a timely manner, if required
โ€ข Respond to trouble/emergency calls in a timely manner
โ€ข Discuss and recommend adequate maintenance service frequency with the customer
โ€ข Follow all company protocols and other duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
โ€ข Ability to understand instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
โ€ข Ability to read and interpret documents including Company policies and procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, maps and road signs.
โ€ข Ability to speak, cooperate and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and management.
โ€ข Ability to work independently and manage pressure to meet deadlines. โ€ข Basic computer literacy including email and internet skills.
โ€ข Ability to perform basic math functions.
Minimum Education and Experience:
โ€ข At least one year of professional commercial driving experience (post-school)
โ€ข Must have a valid driverโ€™s license
โ€ข Acceptable driving record
โ€ข Ability to successfully pass DOT drug screen, medical certification, physical exam and road exams
โ€ข Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
โ€ข Must be able to meet physical demands evaluation
