Security Officers, sometimes referred to as Security Guards, deter criminal activity, protect property, and enforce rules on a property. Some monitor surveillance cameras and alarms from a stationary position, while others patrol areas and conduct security checks. In factories and offices, Security Officers provide protection for equipment and workers while checking the credentials of vehicles and individuals coming and going from the premises.

What You'll Do - Security Officer Positions
  • Rover - Foot or vehicle patrols; responsible for detecting suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, theft, or other criminal activity.
  • Gatehouse - Greet residents and guests with a friendly demeanor, check identification, log visitor vehicles, announce visitors, and control access to all persons entering the property.
  • Front Desk - Acknowledge and greet all guests with utmost courtesy and urgency; provide customer service and access control, monitor CCTV camera systems, announce visitors, and distribute packages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acknowledge and greet all residents and guests in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Manage all guest/visitor access as needed and eject trespassers or violators from premises when deemed necessary
  • Verify credentials of incoming and outgoing individuals/vehicles
  • Document and maintain a log of visitors and notify residents of a visitor's arrival
  • Assist in protecting others and equipment while enforcing policies and procedures
  • Monitor and/or detect any suspicious behavior to assist in the prevention of vandalism, theft, and/or other criminal behavior
  • Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms
  • Patrol the perimeter (interior/exterior) to identify potential safety and security risks
  • Warn violators of infractions, e.g., loitering, smoking, and/or possession of prohibited items
  • Respond to calls of distress, alarms, and/or emergencies such as fire, injuries, or the presence of unauthorized individuals by contacting local first responders
  • Identify and report any and all concerns (safety, security breaches, unusual circumstances) in a timely manner
  • Ensure accuracy and timely submission of required documentation (reports/documents)
  • Ensure all rules/regulations are being enforced and followed
  • Other duties as determined by management
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Valid state licensing
  • Professional demeanor and appearance
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Minimum of one year of customer service experience
  • Minimum of one year of security experience
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug)
  • This position will require occasional crawling, crouching, climbing of stairs, kneeling, running, sitting, standing, stooping, and walking for extended periods of time
