We are currently recruiting for a full-time Security Officer at our Christiana Hospital location. The hours the successful candidate will work either straight days or straight overnights including weekends/holidays as per a two week rotating schedule. The selected Officer will be responsible for patrolling our grounds in order to protect and maintain a safe and secure environment for our staff, patients and others that visit. The Officer will also conduct investigations related to incidents that occur on our property and respond to alarms, security incidents and enforce parking regulations.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree or higher - Criminal Justice or related field or equivalent formal Law Enforcement training.
    One year Law Enforcement or Public Safety experience. (Preferred)
    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  • Current Driver's License
  • Prior Law enforcement experience preferred which will allow applicant to meet State Constable requirements
  • Candidate must maintain certifications in firearms, Taser, CPR accordance with departmental standards.
  • Must be able to meet the requirements of Constable (State of Delaware): In accordance with Title 10, Chapter 27, and Section 2705 of the Delaware Code

Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with law enforcement agencies of jurisdiction
  • Responsible to patrol campus facilities, providing visible security coverage during hours of operation
  • Responds to calls for service for students, faculty, staff and visitors, as necessary
  • Candidate will be responsible for incident/accident investigations and completing written reports in accordance with department policies
  • Operates DELJIS, Report Executive Records Management System, Access Control Systems and other assigned technology

Hourly Pay Range: $18.19 - $26.37
This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
