Full Time - $21 an hour
The Guest Room Inspector is primarily responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction in our hotel. The Guest Room Inspector will act as the Housekeeping Supervisor when the Housekeeping Supervisor is not present.
The Guest Room Inspector shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They will be responsible for exemplifying the SCP's Culture & Core Values.
  • Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, however busy and at whatever time of day.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times. Resolve guest complaints to over-the-moon satisfaction.
  • Follow Hotel policies with lost and found items.
  • Adhere to Hotel requirements for guest and team member accidents or injuries and in emergencies.
  • Continuously promote sanitation, safety, and security efforts.
  • Quality Assurance - Conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure they meet the hotel's cleanliness and maintenance standards.
  • Identify and report any deficiencies or issues in guest rooms, such as cleanliness, maintenance, or amenities, and coordinate with the housekeeping team for prompt resolution.
  • Standards Compliance - Enforce and uphold the hotel's cleanliness and service standards.
  • Ensure that all housekeeping staff adhere to established protocols and procedures.
  • Training and Development - Provide training and support to housekeeping staff to maintain consistency in the quality of room cleanliness and presentation.
  • Offer constructive feedback and guidance to team members to enhance their performance.
  • Communication - Collaborate with housekeeping supervisors and other relevant departments to address and resolve guest complaints or concerns related to cleanliness or room conditions.
  • Maintain open communication with housekeeping staff to address issues and implement improvements.
  • Inventory Management - Monitor and report on the usage of cleaning supplies and amenities, ensuring that adequate stock levels are maintained.
  • Assist in the regular inventory checks of housekeeping supplies.
  • Guest Interaction - Respond to guest requests and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure that guest issues are resolved to their satisfaction.
  • Perform cleaning duties when necessary. Help cover sick and vacation days for the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • When Housekeeping Supervisor is not present:
  1. Assign rooms to be cleaned for the day.
  2. Hand out assignments and keysto
  3. Ensure public areas are clean and maintained.
  • Ensure equipment and facilities are inspected, cleaned, and in proper operational conditions at all times.
  • Appropriately notifying a Supervisor or Engineer of maintenance issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Job Requirements
  • Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Fluency in other languages is beneficial.
  • Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and empathy.
  • Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Professional in appearance and demeanor.
  • Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with guests, vendors, and team members.
  • Must have the ability to resolve problems and/or conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

Supervision
  • Reports to the Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
  • Responsible for supervising the housekeeping department when Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager is not present.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous Housekeeping experience is preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions
  • Must be able to stand and move freely about the property for the majority of the shift.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently, and squeezing & overhead reaching occasionally.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to frequently handle objects and equipment to maintain the property.
  • While primarily an indoor job, one must be able to walk outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
  • Must be able to climb stairs occasionally, both indoors and outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat).
  • Must be able to work in variable room temperatures.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
