Job description

POSITION OPENING

Full-Time School Custodian 

Second Shift Position, 2:30 pm - 11:00 pm

(2 FTE)

Required Qualifications:

  • Meet requirements for background check and fingerprinting.
  • Proven experience in custodial or janitorial work, with a track record of excellence.
  • Strong sense of duty and accountability.
  •  Exceptional organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to follow and enforce safety and hygiene regulations rigorously.
  • Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks.
  • Effective communication skills and a cooperative attitude.


Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:

  • Work cooperatively with the building head custodians.
  • General cleaning, lawn care, snow removal, working at heights on ladders and other platforms, ordering supplies, handling cleaning chemicals, and painting.
  • Minor plumbing and maintenance repairs/remodel as needed with support and supervision.
  • Must be able to handle push, pull, or lift weights of at least fifty (50) pounds.
  • Supervision of areas where students are present as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or designee.


A successful candidate will be able to:

  • Desire a candidate who is willing to obtain a CDL to provide support to the transportation department as needed. 
  • Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school premises.
  • Command the maintenance of floors, walls, windows, and surfaces with precision and care.
  • Ensure the orderly arrangement and proper functioning of all custodial equipment and supplies.
  • Vigilantly inspect and secure school facilities to guarantee a safe environment for students and staff.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks with unwavering dedication and punctuality.
  • Collaborate with school administration to enforce and enhance custodial protocols and practices.


Salary:  As per negotiated district contract.
