Job description

Christie Clinic's department of Pediatrics at the Windsor Clinic in Champaign is seeking a full-time RN or LPN (Sign-On Bonus Available) from Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, with no night or weekend requirements. 

Duties include the provision of professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Possession of an Illinois State Registered Nurse License or Valid State License to practice Practical Nursing is required. Previous nursing experience preferred.

JOB DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatment in accordance with nursing standards and as directed by provider. 

  • Prepare equipment and aid provider during treatment, examination and/or testing of the patient. 

  • Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to medication and/or treatment to provider. 

  • Arrange for patient testing and admission.

  • Act as a liaison between the patient and provider regarding complaints, concerns, etc.

  • Instruct patient and family regarding medication, treatment instructions and patient education.

  •  Demonstrate the ability to respond to triage calls using nursing assessment to ensure patients with emergency situations are given priority, and documenting appropriately.

  • Attend and participate in departmental huddles.

  • Obtain work list from provider and follow up on labs, tests, reports, etc.

  • Administer injections.

  • Send prescription refills.

  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications, testing, procedures, etc.

  • Administer IV therapy and push IV medications (if you have an RN License)

  • Perform related work as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Illinois State RN or LPN license

  • Evidence of annual completion of health related courses and/or seminars with a certificate and/or CEU’s

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Demands include sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, stretching and lifting up to 75 pounds.  Hearing within, or correctable to, normal range, vision correctable to 20/20 and manual dexterity for the operation of office equipment is required.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a clinical setting with possible exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, hazardous waste, bodily fluids and other waste common to a health care environment.  Requirements may include working irregular hours. 

PAY AND BENEFITS:

The estimated pay range for this position is exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related criteria. 

LPN pay range: $22.94 to $31.54 /hr. 

RN pay range: $32.40 to $44.55 /hr.
