Job description

Seeking an experienced full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join a growing Rheumatology service line in Southern Maine, providing comprehensive outpatient care for patients with autoimmune and inflammatory conditions in a collaborative specialty environment.


Position Highlights:
  • Provide outpatient rheumatology care for patients across the lifespan
  • Conduct patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and manage autoimmune and inflammatory conditions in collaboration with physicians
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic testing within scope of practice
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment and care plans
  • Provide patient education on chronic disease management and medication adherence
  • Assist in prescribing medications and monitoring treatment response
  • Collaborate closely with rheumatologists and multidisciplinary care teams
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within electronic health records
  • Promote patient education and disease awareness initiatives

Qualifications:
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with Nurse Practitioner certification or Physician Assistant certification
  • Active and unrestricted Maine state license (or eligibility)
  • BLS certification required and maintained
  • Minimum 2 years of NP/PA experience required in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or specialty outpatient care
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems required
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Interest in autoimmune and chronic disease management strongly preferred
