Job Title: Quality Control Auditor
Location: Henderson, NV

Introduction:
Village Capital is a well-established mortgage company committed to delivering a quick, efficient, and quality mortgage loan process to our customers and business partners. We are a nationwide mortgage lender specializing in FHA, VA, USDA Loans. Our Headquarters are located in Henderson NV. We are a lender/servicer, who works with loan originators, brokers, and correspondents to offer our customers great rates and good terms.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed post-closing loan file audits in the Second Look platform to ensure compliance with agency, investor, and regulatory requirements (FHA, VA, USDA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac).
  • Review loan documentation for accuracy and completeness, verifying income, assets, liabilities, disclosures, and closing documentation.
  • Validate TRID, HMDA, ECOA, and RESPA compliance across loan files.
  • Identify and document exceptions, cite regulatory and investor references, and provide clear, concise commentary supporting findings.
  • Communicate with underwriting, closing, and compliance teams to obtain missing documentation and resolve discrepancies.
  • Contribute to monthly QC metrics and reporting, ensuring exceptions are tracked and remediated within established timelines.
  • Stay current on agency guideline changes and assist with updates to QC checklists, exhibits, and audit templates.
  • Participate in calibration sessions and training reviews to maintain consistency across the QC team.
  • Support ad-hoc targeted or investigative audits (e.g., EPD, rebuttal reviews, or investor repurchase requests).

Basic Qualifications:
  • Proven experience with problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Windows and Encompass (Encompass preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Specific Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of mortgage QC or underwriting experience (post-closing QC preferred).
  • Proficient with Second Look or similar audit platforms.
  • Strong working knowledge of agency guidelines (Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA) and federal compliance regulations (TRID, ECOA, HMDA, ATR/QM).
  • Ability to read and interpret loan documentation including 1003, LE/CD, AUS findings, appraisal, title, and insurance.
  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills - must be able to cite laws and guidelines clearly in findings.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in high-volume, deadline-driven environments with changing priorities.
  • Familiarity with Compliance Ease, Encompass, and Mavent preferred.
  • High school diploma required
  • Remote work outside of Las Vegas/Henderson is available.
