• Conduct thorough assessments to understand each individual's needs, goals, and challenges related to their substance use.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans that incorporate best practices and evidence-based interventions.
• Conduct individual counseling sessions utilizing techniques such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy to foster client engagement.
• Lead engaging group therapy sessions aimed at enhancing peer support and sharing recovery strategies among participants.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, addiction medicine specialists, and other practitioners to ensure continuity and coordination of care.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary, offering immediate support during substance-related emergencies.
• Educate clients and their families on addiction issues, effective recovery strategies, and available community resources to foster a comprehensive understanding of their situation.
• Maintain strict, confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards to safeguard client information.
• Participate in regular team meetings and case consultations to continually enhance the quality of care provided to patients.
• Stay informed of the latest advancements in addiction treatment by engaging in ongoing research and professional development activities.

As a Substance Use Disorder Therapist at Beautiful Minds Therapy, you will work with a diverse client population facing various stages of addiction. Many of our clients are individuals who are seeking guidance to overcome their addiction, while some are in recovery and aiming to prevent relapse. Your role will intimately affect their journeys, providing holistic support that extends beyond mental health treatment to encompass community reintegration.

• Possession of a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Holding a current and valid license as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
• A deep understanding of substance use disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in providing individual and group therapy within the context of addiction treatment.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, along with a compassionate and non-judgmental therapeutic approach.
• Strong ability to uphold professional boundaries, adhere to ethical guidelines, and ensure the confidentiality of all patient interactions.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and relevant computer applications.
• Capability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.

• Experience working in a remote setting and utilizing telehealth platforms for patient engagement.
• Previous interaction with community resources for substance use treatment and family support.
• Involvement in professional organizations or continued education related to substance use treatment.

This position offers a competitive annual salary range of USD 115,000 – 130,000, with additional opportunities for bonuses and a welcome sign-on bonus for qualifying candidates.
