Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the specific needs, strengths, and recovery goals of students seeking assistance with substance use disorders.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral therapy.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions and group therapy in a manner that encourages participation and fosters a supportive community among peers.
• Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams that include psychiatrists and addiction specialists to address complex cases comprehensively.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention for students in substance-related emergencies, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Engage in educational outreach for students and their families, explaining the nuances of addiction, recovery methods, and available community resources.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
• Continuously update your expertise by participating in professional development activities and staying informed about advancements in treatment methodologies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily work with students who are struggling with addiction-related issues, along with their families. Your role is pivotal in addressing the stigma surrounding substance use disorders and promoting a school culture that prioritizes mental health and recovery.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT in California.
• Extensive knowledge of substance use disorders and a strong background in evidence-based therapeutic practices.
• Proven experience in providing both individual and group therapy within the addiction treatment context.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing for a non-judgmental and compassionate therapeutic relationship with clients.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality while adhering to ethical guidelines.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and technology, facilitating efficient documentation and communication.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within school systems or with adolescent populations is preferred.
• Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and collaborative problem-solving approaches.
• Previous engagements in community outreach or educational programs aimed at promoting mental health awareness is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $115,000 to $130,000, plus opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
