• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations and preliminary interviews to establish rapport with clients, documenting all relevant information from the initial consultation through to treatment completion.
• Develop individualized treatment plans that cater to the specific needs and goals of clients, leveraging evidence-based approaches to facilitate meaningful change.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that encourage open discussion, personal reflection, and the active participation of clients in their own healing process.
• Monitor and document clients' progress consistently, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans in collaboration with other mental health specialists and healthcare providers.
• Implement proactive follow-up procedures with clients who may need additional support, including communication with psychiatrists and medical professionals for those admitted to hospitals.
• Identify and intervene with coping behaviors that may hinder recovery, providing tools and resources to foster resilience.
• Support family members and caregivers to help them navigate mental health challenges, ensuring a comprehensive network of care for patients.

This role involves working with a diverse client population, encompassing individuals of various ages and backgrounds facing an array of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. You will play a crucial role in guiding clients through their personal struggles, celebrating their victories, and fostering a supportive environment for growth.

• A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Georgia.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated experience as a mental health counselor, with a proven ability to manage diverse clinical cases.

• Proficiency with electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, enabling efficient patient documentation and care management.
• Experience working with clients facing co-occurring physical and mental health conditions, including addiction and recovery challenges.
• Familiarity with the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices for therapy.
• In-depth understanding of the implications of medication prescribed by treating physicians and its effects on mental health.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, complemented by a genuine, empathetic approach in counseling settings.
