Description
The Mortgage Services MERS Specialist provides Tier 1 application support for clients on all Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems (MERS) compliance requirements, primarily using mintrak2 and MERS Third-Party Review Services. This role involves troubleshooting application-related issues, assisting clients with MERS reconciliation processes, and ensuring compliance with MERS regulatory requirements. The Specialist also performs MERS Annual Review services, including a detailed review of mortgage loan documents.
Pay Range: $20.00 to $22.75
Schedule: Full-time Monday - Friday; 8am - 5pm

Responsibilities:
  • Provides Tier 1 support for MERS-related applications, including troubleshooting issues, assisting clients with system navigation, and escalating complex cases when necessary.
  • Completes MERS Annual Reviews as a third-party auditor, ensuring accuracy and compliance within required timeframes.
  • Collaborates with MERS members to ensure monthly data reconciliation standards are met using the mintrak2 system.
  • Monitors and responds to client requests via the MERS Services email box, providing timely resolutions for application support inquiries.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of process and regulatory changes, as well as MERS guidelines related to MERS requirements.
  • Identifies gaps in member processing and provide recommendations to correct deficiencies related to MERS compliance.
  • Assists with onboarding and implementation of new clients, including initial application setup and troubleshooting.
  • Supports monthly client reporting needs, reviews for discrepancies, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; 3+ years of experience in mortgage loan processing, servicing, or application support; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of MERS compliance requirements.
  • Previous experience in Tier 1 support, application troubleshooting, or a technology-related field preferred.
  • Experience working with large data sets and performing data reconciliation.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as company policies; ability to write reports and client correspondence.
  • Previous experience working with clients/customers in a support or service role.
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced knowledge of Excel and Word.
