Practical Solutions Counseling is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in a fully remote capacity. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct individual and group therapy sessions, either in-home or remotely, tailored to the needs of the clients.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to assist clients in developing critical coping mechanisms for managing behavioral challenges.
  • Facilitate anger management and social skills training to reduce high-risk behaviors and promote positive interactions.
  • Enhance the decision-making capabilities of youth and caregivers through guided sessions focusing on effective management strategies for in-home behavioral issues.
  • Collaborate with the Child Family Treatment Team and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including client intakes, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in monthly team meetings to discuss case progress and provide insights for continued improvement in client services.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with children and adolescents aged 3 to 20 who are experiencing developmental and intellectual disabilities. You will provide support not only to the youth but also to their families, recognizing the critical role that caregivers play in the therapeutic process. Your expertise in bilingual therapy (Spanish or Portuguese) further expands the accessibility of our services to a diverse clientele in Philadelphia and across Pennsylvania.

Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related fields.
  • Active and unrestricted LMFT license is required.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, predominantly after-school hours (4-7 PM) with weekend flexibility preferred.
  • Experience in positive behavior support and management within a therapeutic setting.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience working directly with children and adolescents aged 3-20, particularly those with developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Spanish or Portuguese-speaking clients.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle for potential in-home visits.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check, including fingerprinting.
