Home and Community Mental Care, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This position focuses on delivering in-community therapy services to children and adolescents experiencing developmental disabilities and related challenges, with a specific emphasis on bilingual support for Spanish or Portuguese-speaking families.

As a flexible remote position, this role allows you to conduct therapy sessions in the comfort of your home while still engaging directly with clients. Our Community Health Clinic serves as the organizational backbone, supporting our therapists with robust resources and a collaborative approach. • Conduct individual or group therapy sessions in clients' homes or at our outpatient clinic, tailoring the approach based on the child and family's specific needs.
• Implement targeted strategies to reduce high-risk behaviors, such as self-injurious behavior (SIB) and physical aggression, by teaching essential coping mechanisms, anger management techniques, and social skills.
• Assist caregivers in improving decision-making skills to address behavioral challenges that may arise in the home setting.
• Collaborate vigorously within the Child Family Treatment Team and engage with various specialists to support the child's therapeutic journey and overall family health.
• Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, including intake forms, treatment plans, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with specified timelines.
• Participate in regular team meetings to offer insights and recommendations based on client progress and behavioral observations.

This role focuses specifically on children and adolescents, ranging in age from 3 to 20, who present with developmental disabilities or intellectual concerns. Therapists will work closely with a diverse client population, including those with various abilities and cultural backgrounds, fostering an understanding and compassionate therapeutic relationship. The ability to provide bilingual services will enhance communication and patient outcomes for Spanish or Portuguese-speaking families.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field is required.
• An active and unrestricted LMFT license in the state of Illinois is essential for this position.
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours, typically between 4 PM and 7 PM, is needed. Weekend availability is a significant advantage.
• Proficiency in providing positive behavior support techniques is necessary.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are required to facilitate home visits.
• Successful candidates must pass a thorough criminal background check, including fingerprinting.

• Experience in delivering therapeutic services to children and adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities enhances your candidacy.
• Past exposure to various therapeutic modalities and treatment approaches will be beneficial as you collaborate with families to create effective treatment plans.
• Experience working within a team-oriented, multidisciplinary environment is advantageous.

This full-time role offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000, reflecting the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. In addition, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including:
