The Healing Mind and Soul Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist to join our team in Amarillo, Texas. Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting individual therapy sessions and group therapy activities within the comfort of the clientโ€™s home or our outpatient facility, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Implementing targeted interventions focusing on anger management, coping strategies, and the development of social skills to navigate everyday challenges.
  • Working collaboratively with the Child Family Treatment Team and multidisciplinary professionals to share insights and collectively enhance support for youth and their families.
  • Documenting therapy sessions comprehensively by submitting required paperwork, including treatment plans and progress notes, adhering to the established timelines.
  • Attending monthly team meetings to provide updates, share feedback, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our service delivery models.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily focuses on serving children aged 3 to 20, particularly those facing challenges associated with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will work closely with families to guide them through behavioral management techniques and positive behavior support strategies, enhancing their capacity to foster a nurturing home environment. Your expertise will play a crucial role in enriching the lives of children who require specialized interventions to thrive.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following:

  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field.
  • An active and unrestricted Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license.
  • A minimum availability of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours from 4-7 PM while being open to weekend hours when necessary.
Preferred Experience

While we welcome all qualified candidates, preference will be given to applicants with:

  • Direct experience providing positive behavior support to children and adolescents.
  • Significant work history with children suffering from intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort working with bilingual families, specifically Spanish or Portuguese speaking parents and children.
