The Citrus Psychotherapy Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our growing team in Reno, Nevada. Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through preliminary interviews, documenting client cases from initial consultations to final treatment.
  • Assess and evaluate clients' mental, emotional, and behavioral health to formulate personalized intervention and recovery plans.
  • Lead both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at addressing diverse issues such as stress management, relationship challenges, and trauma recovery.
  • Monitor client progress throughout treatment, utilizing assessment tools and regular feedback to adjust therapeutic approaches as necessary.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to develop cohesive intervention strategies.
  • Engage in proactive follow-ups with healthcare professionals concerning clients who may require hospitalization or additional medical care.
  • Identify potential behavioral challenges that could hinder recovery, crafting strategies to address and prevent these issues.
  • Provide guidance and support to family members and caregivers to assist them in navigating the complexities of mental health challenges.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work closely with a diverse client population that may include children, adolescents, adults, and families facing a range of mental health concerns. Some of these challenges can include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma, and substance use disorders. Your role is critical in establishing a therapeutic relationship that fosters trust and openness, allowing clients to explore their struggles in a supportive environment.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW) in the state of Nevada.
  • Pass the National Counselor Exam (NCE) or National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that foster effective interactions with clients and coworkers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills characterized by empathy and an understanding nature.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor involving direct patient care in clinical settings.
  • Proficiency with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking of client progress.
  • Experience with addiction disorders and related physical and emotional health conditions, as well as familiarity with the latest best practices from the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
  • A deep understanding of psychotropic medications and their implications for mental health treatment.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from USD 80,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
