The Fraud Medical/Financial Risk Evaluation Professional 2 is responsible for supporting the development, implementation and monitoring of medical/financial risk. The Medical/Financial Risk Evaluation Professional 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.
The Medical Fraud Evaluation Professional position is critical to ensuring compliance with Humana's documented standards and procedures regarding fraud and abuse investigations and ensuring that Fraud Research and Analytics Department both continues and increases its early fraud detection capabilities.
This position places a key role supporting our partner departments: Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and Risk Adjustment Integrity Unit (RAIU) which are responsible for documenting all case investigative activities, evidence, and findings to prove or disprove fraud and abuse allegations. This position is critical in maintaining Humana compliance standards, early fraud detection and analysis, and the ability to meet regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of Humana claims systems experience specifically CAS and MTV as well as understanding of medical claims terminology
  • Experience in data analytics, including the use of data analytic tools such as Power BI
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced skills in utilizing Pivot Tables for data summarization, analysis, and reporting

Work-At-Home Requirements
  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested
  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership
  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Preferred Qualifications
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Advanced experience in Power BI
  • Experience with SQL or Python

Pay Range
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$65,000 - $88,600 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
