Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough preliminary assessments and document clients' cases meticulously from the initial consultation throughout the treatment process.
• Evaluate and analyze clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health to determine the most effective therapeutic interventions.
• Develop customized intervention and recovery plans designed for individuals, couples, families, and groups, considering unique backgrounds and treatment needs.
• Facilitate engaging and supportive individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based techniques to empower clients.
• Monitor clients' progress consistently, adapting treatment plans as necessary to align with their evolving goals and needs.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including other mental health specialists, medical doctors, nurses, and social workers, to create comprehensive intervention strategies.
• Provide continuous follow-up with psychiatrists and attending physicians for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring smooth transitions and ongoing support.
• Identify potential barriers to recovery, working proactively to mitigate any behaviors or circumstances that hinder therapeutic progress.
• Support family members and primary caregivers with practical strategies to manage mental health challenges and foster healthy environments.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily engage with a diverse client population, encompassing individuals from various backgrounds and age groups facing mental health challenges. Our clients may include individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use disorders, and other psychological concerns. Your ability to connect empathetically and effectively communicate with clients will be essential in building trust and rapport to facilitate their journey towards improved mental health.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Must possess a current and valid state licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPC, LCSW).
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE) is required.
• A demonstrated track record of previous experience in a mental health counseling role, showcasing your competency and understanding of therapeutic techniques.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems such as AVATAR, facilitating efficient case management and documentation practices.
• Knowledge of related physical and emotional health conditions as well as addiction disorders is essential for effective patient care.
• Familiarity with best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) to ensure quality service delivery.
• A comprehensive understanding of medications and their implications on mental health is needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are imperative, providing clear and compassionate interaction with clients and team members.
• Strong interpersonal skills, characterized by empathy, patience, and dedication to fostering positive client relationships.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds, particularly those representing underserved communities.
• Prior involvement in group therapy facilitation would be advantageous, enhancing the treatment experience for clients.
• Acquaintance with teletherapy practices, especially in a remote work environment, will be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits
