Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to evaluate each client's needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools and intake interviews.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans focused on achieving specific therapeutic goals, ensuring regular updates based on client progress.
  • Utilize evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness techniques in individual, family, and group sessions.
  • Monitor and document clients' progress in clinical notes, providing thorough documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Offer immediate crisis intervention as needed, guiding clients through challenging situations and connecting them with appropriate resources.
  • Engage in regular case consultations with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development, including workshops and training sessions, to stay updated with current trends in mental health treatment.
  • Adhere strictly to ethical guidelines set forth by governing bodies to maintain the highest standards of care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a mental health therapist at Guiding Light, you will work with a diverse clientele, including adults, adolescents, and families facing various psychological and emotional challenges. Our clients often present with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship conflicts, and other mental health disorders. Each week, you will have the opportunity to impact your clients' lives meaningfully, helping them develop coping strategies and resilience.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related discipline is required.
  • Must hold current and valid state licensure as a Mental Health Therapist (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessment and diagnosis is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues are a must.
  • Empathy, compassion, and a strong commitment to promoting client well-being are fundamental to this role.
  • Capabilities to function both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

Preferred Experience
