Shifts available:

  • 40 hours - M-F 10:30am – 6:30pm (9:00am - 5:00pm in summer and six non-school days during year) at Sunrise, FL
  • 30 hours - M- F 12:30pm – 6:30pm (9:00am - 5:00pm on non-school days and summer) at Deerfield Beach, FL

Salary:

  • 40 hours - $45,000 or $47,000 with RBT certification with full-time benefits
  • 30 hours - $33,750 or $35,250 with RBT certification with full-time benefits

Arc Broward is looking for a Behavior Specialist to support the team in the implementation of behavior plans. As a Behavior Specialist, you play an essential role in modeling and coaching positive behavioral strategies and interactions and prevention, de-escalation, and intervention strategies.

What does a Behavioral Specialist Do?

  • Assists the Behavioral Team Leader in conducting assessment and developing behavior plans that help the children develop skills and adaptive behaviors
  • Trains and coaches direct support professionals to implement the behavior plans and document data
  • Leads the classrooms teams in procedures to prevent and de-escalate crisis behaviors and implement positive classroom management strategies
  • Monitors the progress of each student through analysis of data and ensures procedural modifications are made as warranted
  • Leads the classrooms teams in engagement of all activities and lessons using positive prompting and reinforcement
  • Models and reinforces effective classroom management, prevention, de-escalation, crisis management, and transition strategies

Required Qualification/Skills:

  • Associate Degree in Psychology or related field plus 2 or more years of experience including implementation of ABA plans and crisis intervention with individuals with developmental disabilities or High School diploma plus 4 or more years of experience
  • RBT Certification required within 1 year of employment
  • Valid FL driver’s license
