Lifekind Health is looking for a full-time Certified Coder II (CPC or CCS) to join our team. The Medical Coder II performs more complex coding assignments. This role requires independent judgment, strong knowledge of coding guidelines, and the ability to resolve more advanced coding issues.

Location: Remote for someone located Texas or Oklahoma


About the position:

  • Code moderate to complex encounters
  • Assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers with a high degree of accuracy
  • Review documentation for compliance and completeness; initiate provider queries as needed
  • Work claim edits, claim rejections and denials requiring coding expertise
  • Assist with training and mentoring Medical Coder I staff
  • Stay current with coding updates, payer rules, and regulatory changes

Our Ideal Candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Healthcare Administration, or 5 years of medical coding experience
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or equivalent required
  • Strong understanding of coding guidelines and payer requirements
  • Ability to code independently with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in resolving coding-related rejections, denials and edits
  • Solid communication skills for provider interaction
