The main responsibilities will be to inspect lumber production to ensure all products meet company and industry specifications. The role plays a critical part in maintaining product consistence, optimizing processes, and supporting a culture of continuous improvement. Quality Control Inspector Summary:

Ensure product integrity by auditing manufacturing processes to standardization. Identify defects and partner with optimization teams to calibrate equipment, and facilitate staff training to drive continuous improvement.


Quality Control Inspector Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Compile and distribute detailed daily inspection reports to the Operations Manager.


Maintain meticulous records of quality metrics, non-conformances, and corrective actions to facilitate data-driven decision-making.


Immediately inform supervisors of product deficiency or discrepancies involving quality of product or issues with the process that is adversely affecting quality.


Develop and facilitate technical training sessions for production staff, focusing on quality best practices, defect prevention, and the achievement of continuous improvement benchmarks.


Partner with the Optimization Manager to support machine center alignment, precision calibration, and systemic troubleshooting to enhance equipment reliability and output quality.


Ensure safe work practices, follow safety procedures, and complete safety forms, checklists, and permits.


Perform other duties as assigned.


Quality Control Inspector Basic Qualifications:

Language skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


Computer proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Docs and ability to navigate and acquire skills to use internal systems.


Ability to speak effectively and professionally to customers or employees of an organization.


Mathematical skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.


Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Quality Control Inspector Education, Experience, and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.


Prior quality control experience or certificate preferred.


Previous lumber yard experience and understanding of lumber manufacturing and product flow preferred.


Work Environment:

Exposure to bark, sawdust, and fluctuating seasonal temperatures (hot, cold, humid).


Work is performed 90% in outdoor lumber yard areas and 10% in an indoor office setting.


This safety-sensitive position requires employees to comply with all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and required drug and alcohol testing procedures.


Physical Demands:

Stand or walk for extended periods (8-12-hour shifts).


Climb and descend steps, stairways, or ladders several times per shift.


Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. regularly and use hand tools.




Hours: Monday-Friday 10:00am-6:00pm
